Impressive spectacle, where beauty, tradition and history blend together, to celebrate both the local culture and the warrior heritage of Burundi

Specific to the Kirundo province, intore dancers are distinguished by their particular clothing, which embodies both nobility and connection with warrior ancestors. They wear leopard skins tied around their waist, affirming their stature and warrior heritage. Their heads are adorned with a crown braided from rapha fibers, accentuating their presence and dignity. Bells on their ankles pace their dance, enhancing the energy of their performance, while the music of the trumpets and the poetry of their movements bring a dimension that is both majestic and vibrant. In one hand, they hold a stick decorated with raffia, a symbol of strength and wisdom, while in the other, a simple stick evokes a traditional spear, decorated with bands of crossed beads around their chest, highlighting the elegance and power of the dancer.
