This site recalls the famous encounter between Henry Morton Stanley and David Livingstone. Another tourist site is being developed—a site housing the stone marking the passage of the two explorers on 25 November 1871, as inscribed on the 10-ton stone. This site is located along the Mugere River south of Bujumbura, in Kabezi commune. It marks an important moment in Africa’s exploration history.
